President Obama is on his way to The Coachella Valley to karaoke with us host a summit at Sunnylands. Here are your road closures and rules (no model rocketry!) to know for his visit to the desert, which begins Friday morning.

First, the road closures from the Palm Springs Police Department, via Desert Sun:

Kirk Douglas Way between Ramon and El Cielo roads and Airport Center Drive at Kirk Douglas Way will be closed to cars and pedestrians between 5 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16.

People looking to access the airport will have to use the main entrance at the intersection of Tahquitz Canyon Way and El Cielo Road.

There will also be temporary closures along the route of where ever The President may go (hopefully to karaoke with us) and that has not, and probably won’t, be announced.

There are also a host of rules around flying into the airport:

Beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, planes not associated with approved law enforcement, the U.S. military, Secret Service or part of a list of pre-approved commercial flights will be prevented from coming within a 30-mile radius or 17,999-foot altitude of the airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s notice.

The restriction expires at 2:15 p.m. Feb. 16.

And finally, if you picked this weekend of all weekend to tow a banner, parachute, or launch your model rocket – you are shit out of luck:

No parachute operations, agricultural flights, banner-towing planes, sightseeing operations, model rocketry, drone usage or maintenance test flights will be allowed during that time.
