Morongo Valley man arrested after making Facebook threat against school

Police have arrested a Morongo Valley man for making criminal threats following a Facebook post which threatened to kill people at Morongo Valley Elementary School.

Robin Rennaker, also known as Robbie Rennaker, 21, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon, according to Z017.7. Earlier in the day a post from an account with the same name posted, “Just bought this puppy from the gun store today finna test it out at the shooting range & then ima carry out an attack where i will kill many innocent civilians for the islamic state of iraq” it was followed by a smiling emoji and “bismillah… allahu akbar.” It was accompanied by a photo of a rifle leaning against a door.

The Sheriff’s Department received multiple calls from residents about the post and the school was placed on lockdown for an hour as a precaution.

Deputies had tried to contact Rennaker at his home on Pioneer Drive Tuesday night, but they were unsuccessful. After obtaining a search warrant, authorities returned to the home on Wednesday morning. During the search, deputies found a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, drugs, and drug paraphernalia, according to The Sun.

Rennaker was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, and violation of probation.
