Nike filmed a LeBron James commercial in Yucca Valley…without LeBron James

You will soon see a new Nike commercial featuring LeBron James that was filmed in Yucca Valley. But no, the NBA star did not make his way to the High Desert for the filming – too bad, since he missed a chance to go to Joshua Tree National Park, which is really nice this time of year – but it would have been tough for James to make it, seeing as how he was busy dishing out 6 assists and scoring 7 points against the Orlando Magic.

The spot was filmed Wednesday at Friendly Hills Elementary School, with dozens of child actors on the court with their parents rooting them on, notes Z107.7 fm.

Morongo Unified School Superintendent Tom Baumgarten told the radio station that the location had been selected because of the “pristine beauty of the desert setting of the school”.

The commercial is set to debut later this month.

The production company donated $2,500 to the school.
