Thanksgiving is a great time to celebrate family, football, and feasting…well, if you can get there.

More people are expected to fly during the 12 period surrounding Thanksgiving than ever before, reports NBC News.

27.3 million people are expected to will fly domestic, which would beat the record of 26.2 million in both 2006 and 2007.

That’s an average of 2.27 million people every day – with experts predicting that the Sunday after Thanksgiving will be the busiest day of them all.

Flying Monday or Tuesday or even Thanksgiving morning might help you avoid some of the larger crowds, notes the Travel Channel.  With Black Friday being one of the best options to return home or just waiting until the following week.
