It’s that time again to score your wristbands for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival – so grab your laptop and a credit card and be sure to follow these tips to make sure you get your tickets before they sell out.

6Be prepared to wait

Buying tickets to Coachella can take a while. Be prepared to be in front of a computer or have your phone tied up for a while you are in virtual line for passes.  Seriously though, this can take hours.  Make no other plans and cancel the ones you have.

5Learn how it all works

The festival has a step-by-step guide on how the ticket buying process works (here).  Have a look before 11 am.  There are typically only two chances to buy festival passes (three if you are a local – scroll down for info on that).  The first sale in May / June allows for tickets to be purchased with a payment plan, the sale in January does not.

If you are an American Express cardholder, you may have your own link to buy tickets.  Seek that out as it is usually much easier to get passes.

4Have a good  connection

The last thing you want is to have your signal cut out in the middle of buying passes so make sure your Wi-Fi is strong like bull and whatever you do, don’t try to make this happen while moving around.  Pick a spot and stay there.

3The shuttle is great

Whether you are from out of town or a local, spend the extra cash and get shuttle passes. You’ll avoid sitting in traffic, you will have a shorter walk into the fest, and the shuttles are usually cool with you brining on a beverage or two (not in glass containers), if you are looking to pregame a bit.

2Don’t be greedy

Just buy the tickets you are going to use. If you think you are going to get rich off of scalping extra passes, just talk to everyone who thought they were going to do the same thing during the Desert Trip fest. That worked out super for them.

1Locals will probably have one more shot to buy tickets

Those who live in the Coachella Valley are normally given one last shot to buy festival passes the week before the event.  However, this involves waiting in line (or having your awesome mom wait in line for you) for hours.  Buying them today is way easier.

Good luck on getting those passes!
