5 things to do in and around Greater Palm Springs this weekend, 6/16 – 6/18

Oh joy. This weekend is going to be hot AF in the Coachella Valley. If you can make it out your front door without your face melting off, here are some things going on in and around the desert.

Reggae fans rejoice as the son of the legendary Bob Marley heads to Coachella’s Spotlight 29 Casino on Friday night for an 8pm show.  Tickets will set you back $46 – $76.

BudFest

Dig Deeper – an underground house and disco series in LA is taking a trip out to the desert with a stop into the Ace this weekend. Events run Friday through Sunday and will include Chris Cruse, Conor, Gabriels, Masha, Mike Gushansky and Paradise.

Lavender Fest – Round 2

Lavender Festival

The second of two weekends of the 13th Annual Lavender Festival runs Friday through Sunday at the Highland Springs Ranch and Inn in Cherry Valley.  The event is open 10 am to 5 pm each day and includes lavender-inspired food, horse-drawn wagon touts, live music, seminars, and a ton of lavender items to purchase.   Tickets are eight bucks.

Art Laboe’s Summer Love Jam VI

The legendary radio host is bringing a mix of old school and current artists to the desert.  The night will include Zapp, Midnight Star, MC Magic, and more to The Show in Rancho Mirage along with MC Magic and Lighter Shade of Brown on Saturday, June 17.  Tickets are $45 – $65.

Which One’s Pink? – a tribute to Pink Floyd headline’s Saturday’s free show at the outdoor venue at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.  Admission is free and the music gets started at 7:30 pm.
